چکیده

Event Structures (ESs) address the representation of direct relationshipsbetween individual events, usually capturing the notions of causality and conflict. Up tonow, such relationships have been static, i.e. they cannot change during a system run. Thus, the common ESs only model a static view on systems. We make causality dynamicby allowing causal dependencies between some events to be changed by occurrences ofother events. We first model and study the case in which events may entail the removalof causal dependencies, then we consider the addition of causal dependencies, and finallywe combine both approaches in the so-called Dynamic Causality ESs. For all three newlydefined types of ESs, we study their expressive power in comparison to the well-knownPrime ESs, Dual ESs, Extended Bundle ESs, and ESs for Resolvable Conflicts. Interestingly,Dynamic Causality ESs subsume Extended Bundle ESs and Dual ESs but are incomparablewith ESs for Resolvable Conflicts.

On the Foundations of dynamic coalitions: modeling changes and evolution of workflows in healthcare scenarios

Dynamic Coalitions denote a temporary collaboration between different entities to achieve a common goal. A key feature that distinguishes Dynamic Coalitions from static coalitions is Dynamic Membership, where new members can join and others can leave after a coalition is set. This thesis studies workflows in Dynamic Coalitions, by analyzing their features, highlighting their unique characterist...

From Dynamic Condition Response Structures to Büchi Automata

Recently we have presented dynamic condition response structures (DCR) as a declarative process model conservatively generalizing labelled event structures to allow for finite specifications of repeated, possibly infinite behavior and acceptance conditions for infinite runs. The key ideas are to split the causality relation of event structures in two dual relations: the condition relation and t...

Compositional Event Structure Semantics for the Internal pi -Calculus

We propose the first compositional event structure semantics for a very expressive π-calculus, generalising Winskel’s event structures for CCS. The π-calculus we model is the πI-calculus with recursive definitions and summations. First we model the synchronous calculus, introducing a notion of dynamic renaming to the standard operators on event structures. Then we model the asynchronous calculu...

Compositional Event Structure Semantics for the π-Calculus

We propose the first compositional event structure semantics for a fully expressive π-calculus, generalising Winskel’s event structures for CCS. The π-calculus we model is the πI-calculus with recursive definitions and summations. First we model the synchronous calculus, introducing a notion of dynamic renaming to the standard operators on event structures. Then we model the asynchronous calcul...

CO2 Emissions, Health Expenditures and Economic Growth in Iran: Apply Dynamic Simultaneous-Equations Models

Introduction: The causal dynamics between environment, health expenditures and economic growth has recently started to be studied in the economics literature for both developing and developed countries. Methods: This study examines the causal relationship between CO2 emissions, health expenditures and economic growth using dynamic simultaneous-equations models for Iran over the period 1972-2...
